This four and
a half-day course will offer skills to individuals interested in hydronic
heating maintenance, troubleshooting and controls systems, as well as
offering individuals the opportunity to receive the Silver and Gold Certificates
through the National Oil
Heat Research Alliance (NORA).
This
32-hour course will increase the student’s knowledge and ability to maintain
and troubleshoot oil fired boilers and control systems. There will be six (6)
NORA CEU credits awarded for this class.
Topical
areas to be covered will include:
- Types
of wet and dry base boilers and furnaces
- Combustion
chambers and types of materials used in old and new boilers and furnaces
and the repair chambers
- Controls
and wiring used in oil heating systems
- Vacuum
cleaning of the boiler and taking combustion efficiency readings of the
oil burner operation
- Zone
systems and their operation in the system
